  • Pitch, conceptualize and execute daily live streams and short-form videos on political and social justice issues
  • Research, write and edit multiple daily scripts stemming from the day’s news
  • Plan and coordinate on-site and off-site shoots for original content, often stemming from breaking national news
  • Collaborate with reporters and editors to generate short-term and long-term video projects, including an investigation into lead paint poisoning in New York City that was featured on “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver” and an in-depth profile on the man who filmed the death of police brutality victim Eric Garner
  • Worked on coverage of 2016 presidential campaign including primaries, Democratic National Convention, protests and the election, including a video series highlighting programs in Philadelphia that sought to curb gun violence, draw attention to undocumented restaurant workers and promote sustainable local farming
  • Reported and produced videos on location, including:
    • President Obama’s historic trip to Cuba, in which I worked as a translator, booker, producer and photographer for reports and videos on the trip, as well as profiles of local activists and artists
    • Orlando shooting, in which I organized multiple widely viewed live streams with members of the LGBTQ and Muslim communities in the days following the shooting
    • Women’s March on NYC, in which I organized live streams featuring interviews with protesters
  • Occasional on-air talent for videos on Latino issues, including pieces on language and cultural appropriation

HuffPost Live

Producer           July 2013 to Dec. 2015

  • Crafted and executed multiple live half-hour segments each weekday for 12 hours of daily programming on domestic and international issues from pre- to post-production. The widely viewed live stream required extensive pre-production each day, as well as constant monitoring of breaking news and an ability to change course quickly.


Daily responsibilities included:

    • Establishing editorial angles for segments and defining and building story arc on deadline
    • Booking daily guests, writing multiple scripts, selecting visual, textual and audio elements
    • Determining assignments for associate producer, production assistant and host
    • Maintaining constant communication with supervising producer, assistant director and director
  • In charge of producing franchises and special segments such as:


      Free Speech Zone: Twice a week half-hour segment hosted by Alyona Minkovski

We covered under-reported domestic stories on topics such as, but not limited to, civil liberties, political activism, prison reform and income inequality. Segments included interviews with Daniel Ellsberg, Glenn Greenwald and CIA whistleblower John Kiriakou

Transgender inmate Ashley Diamond joined to discuss her release from prison after suing the Georgia Dept. of Corrections for being sexually assaulted and denied hormone treatment


Associate Producer    June 2012 to July 2013

  • Part of original team that developed and launched HuffPost Live, a first of its kind live streaming network that operated 12 hours daily. Responsibilities included:
  • Working with producer, supervising producer and host to execute multiple daily segments; Researching assigned stories while helping to identify and book a diverse panel of guests for quick turnaround; Assisting producer in pulling elements such as relevant stock video, photos and/or text; Handling logistical and technical details for guests, such as running Google Hangouts and Skype tests

  • Managed social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest)
  • Scripted 2-to 3-minute segments on mainly international issues, like the Arab Spring
  • Wrote, edited and posted web content on the day’s news, booked guests and translated interviews


  • Covered the Occupy Wall Street protests at their inception by interviewing demonstrators
  • Interviewed Cuban dissident Yoani Sanchez for a series of short-form videos that aired live
